This year's Paradise Festival will open with the world premiere of an extraordinary dance theatre that was developed especially for Paradise: Ali Salmi and his company OSMOSIS call their dance performance CLIMAX "An Ode to All Living Things" in the context of climate change: video art and dance revolve around our fears of predicted catastrophes, but also search for images of a new, future world. In the paradise of the Völklingen Ironworks World Cultural Heritage Site, the dancers and visual artists have found the congenial location for their search: On the site of the former coking plant, the place of industrialisation where man has massively changed his environment through technology, 'wild' nature is gradually returning. What better place to reflect on the age of technical change, but also to sense new visions?
