Welcome!
The Völklinger Hütte is the world's only fully preserved ironworks from the heyday of industrialisation, and is also the first industrial monument of this era to be added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. Visitors will find it a highly exciting and fascinating place where past, present and future meet in a variety of ways.

OPEN CALL: FORGE Video Mapping Festival
The Völklinger Hütte invites artists from Germany, France, Belgium, and Luxembourg to bring the iconic industrial facilities of the UNESCO World Heritage Site to life through video art.
We are looking for extraordinary projector mapping works with sound that transform the monumental architecture of the sintering plant, blast furnace 1, and ore hall into new, unexpected worlds. The contributions should be site-specific and go in-depth: looking behind the surface, making structures legible, opening up new perspectives.
The selected entries will be presented from May 29 to 31, 2026, at the FORGE Video Mapping Festival on the ore square in a spectacular open-air setting. One work will be selected by the jury, and the audience will also choose their favorite during the festival. For the selected film production (including sound), the artist/collective will receive an expense allowance of EUR 2,000 excluding VAT for the production or completion of the final festival contribution.

Percussion under Construction
L.A. was originally composed as a grand, slow-building finale for Recycled (2017) by Percussion Under Construction, premiering at Saarland State Theater. Inspired by a stay in Los Angeles, Martin Hennecke named the piece after the city and incorporated field recordings from his visit.
