Description
Case, a member of the Frankfurt-based Ma'Claim crew who also goes by the name of Andreas von Chrzanowski, is known both for his wall murals and for the panel paintings he creates for the art market. Hailing from East Germany, he began experimenting with the "forbidden art of the 80s" (Moses) in 1995. Together with the Ma'Claim crew (Case, Akut, Rusk and Tasso), he then developed a technique combining spray painting, as an essential element of Urban Art, with photo collages. The motifs created exhibit a clear affinity with hip-hop culture. The four crew members later all went their own ways – Case choosing to dedicate himself to classic painting. Albeit using spray paint. Hands tend to be his central motif. In an article for the online market place Widewalls, Case is called "one of the most innovative German street artists". With his work The Beekeeper in the wild landscape garden of the Völklingen Ironworks World Heritage Site, created for the Urban Art Biennale 2019, Case wanted to draw attention to colony collapse disorder and to human behavior that is disrespectful of nature.

Description
Case, bürgerlich Andreas von Chrzanowski, von der Frankfurter Ma'Claim-Crew ist ein deutscher Wandmaler, der auch Tafelbilder für den Kunstmarkt herstellt. Aus Ostdeutschland stammend, begann er 1995 mit der – so der Sprayer Moses – "verbotenen Kunst der 80er", deren Grundlage, die Gestaltung vertikaler Flächen mit Farbspray, er dann mit der Ma'Claim-Gruppe (Case, Akut, Rusk & Tasso) zur Übertragung von fotohaltigen Collagen zweckentfremdete. Die Motive zeigten eine deutliche Nähe zur Hip-Hop-Kultur. Später gingen die vier ihrer eigenen Wege – Case in Richtung klassische Malerei. Immer noch mit Spraydose. Hände sind dabei sein zentrales Motiv. Als "eine[r] der innovativsten deutschen Street Artists" wird er auf dem Online-Marktplatz Widewalls bezeichnet. Mit seiner Arbeit „The Beekeeper“ im wilden Landschaftsgarten des Weltkulturerbes Völklinger Hütte, die zur Urban Art Biennale 2019 entstanden ist, möchte Case auf das Bienensterben und auf respektloses Verhalten des Menschen gegenüber der Natur aufmerksam machen.
