Description
On a journey through Australia, Unknown Fields explored a landscape marked by mining, linking it to the creation mythology of the Aboriginal Australians. Territorial representations in Aboriginal dot paintings are transformed into digital geological measurements.
In the work All Mine, Unknown Fields explore the connections between the world market, mining and landscape forms. For this, a robot digs an open-cast mine into a tabletop on the basis of live data. Thus All Mine is a handy-sized mining machine for the home: while we go about our our everyday lives, the robot excavates little landscapes in the table top based on data transmitted live from the gold market.
